Think giving an opinion can't be a sin (aka bad behavior)?...Think again.

"O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”" 1 Timothy 6:20

To speak what is false is a sin.

"A man that is an apostate, an unprofitable man, walketh with a perverse mouth," Proverbs 6:12

Anything false is objectively evil.

"Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth; but that which is good, to the edification of faith, that it may administer grace to the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God: whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:29-30.

Whether you believe your opinion to be true or good when it is not, doesn't stop it from being a sin when you speak it

"But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Matthew 12:36-37

To believe what is false to be True, is the sin of pride of thinking you are right.

"He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth his soul from distress. The proud and the arrogant is called ignorant, who in anger worketh pride." Proverbs 21:23-24

"He that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his soul: but he that hath no guard on his speech shall meet with evils." Proverbs 13:3

To fail to discern with God before giving an opinion is a sin and the sin of imprudence.

"Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: and a door round about my lips. Incline not my heart to evil words; to make excuses in sins. With men that work iniquity: and I will not communicate with the choicest of them." Psalm 140:3-4

To fail to seek the Truth from God about whether any and all of your beliefs are true or false is a sin.

"‘But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’" Matthew 15:9, Mark 7:7

To speak what is false is to teach a falsehood, which is a sin for all; not just for those in a position of leadership and authority.

"Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of these things comes the anger of God upon the children of unbelief.", Ephesians 5:6

To believe what is false is to reject what is Truth. To reject what is Truth is to reject an aspect of God, which is a sin; for God is Truth.

"Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel, for the Lord shall enter into judgment with the inhabitants of the land: for there is no truth, and there is no mercy, and there is no knowledge of God in the land." Hosea 4:1

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those men that detain the truth of God in injustice: Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. For God hath manifested it unto them. For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable." Romans 1:18-20

All of the above are sins of disobedience, pride, carelessness, imprudence, setting a bad example, and failure to love God, yourself and others enough to only want to share Truth with others.

"Let your speech be always in grace seasoned with salt: that you may know how you ought to answer every man." Colossians 4:6
